Arc Pulse is one of those designs that immediately catches your eye (it caught mine!). Instead of covering your phone like a typical Samsung S26 Ultra case, it wraps only the top and bottom parts, leaving most of the device exposed. Well, I’d say it targets people who want something different.
After the initial shock, I began to question how it performs in everyday use.
Call me old-fashioned, but I’m more comfortable using a case like Thinborne - something with ample coverage to protect the phone. Thinborne’s Galaxy S26 Ultra case keeps the slim feel of the device while adding grip and functionality. If you’re like me, you’ll appreciate these features.
Read on so we can explore these two brands’ phone cases together.
Thinborne focuses on practical, everyday use, while Arc Pulse leans more toward design-first, unique phone cases.
The Samsung S26 Ultra case from Thinborne offers full coverage, unlike Arc Pulse’s bumper-style design.
Thinborne uses 600D aramid fiber, which provides a better grip and a more reliable anti-slip phone case experience.
Thinborne includes built-in MagSafe compatibility.
With its 0.90 mm thin profile, Thinborne balances slimness and usability without exposing the phone.
As highlighted in ZDNET’s report, Samsung’s latest flagship is getting a lot of attention. And this naturally leads us to ask: which Galaxy S26 Ultra case pairs best with it?
Arc Pulse answers that question in a very unique way. It’s built around the idea of protecting your phone without really covering it. Instead of a traditional case, it acts more like a design piece, keeping most of the phone exposed while focusing on key impact areas (the edges and the camera).
Thinborne’s case focuses on how a Samsung S26 Ultra case should actually feel and function in everyday use. It covers your phone in a minimalist way but still comes with features that make it more usable.
So, is Thinborne better than Arc Pulse? I'm not here to bash Arc Pulse (I actually find its one-of-a-kind design quite admirable), but I’ll tell you what I find impressive with Thinborne.
🔍Product Review: Take a closer look at the ThinBorne Galaxy S26 Ultra case, from its ultra-thin aramid fiber build to real-world feel, grip, and magnetic usability.
Material affects grip, durability, and even how the case feels after weeks of use. The good news is that Thinborne uses 600D aramid fiber. Aside from being known as a tough material, 600D is also better (in quality) than 1500D.
In fact, studies show that aramid fiber surpasses conventional case materials when it comes to durability and wear resistance. Moreover, its textured, woven finish provides a natural grip without feeling rubbery - so Thinborne is also an anti-slip phone case.
Arc Pulse, on the other hand, uses aerospace-grade aluminum (which is also good). It looks clean and also feels premium, but metal tends to be smoother - and therefore, quite slippery. So, if grip is important to you, this is a bit of a downer.
Thinborne gets extra bonus points for having built-in magnets. Since the Galaxy S26 Ultra doesn’t have magnets, you need a MagSafe case (like Thinborne) to fully enjoy the convenience and perks of using magnetic accessories.
Of course, the Arc Pulse doesn’t come with MagSafe features since it’s not designed like a “normal case,” remember? So no, you can’t use MagSafe accessories with Arc Pulse’s bumper-style “case.”
One workaround for the issue of MagSafe compatibility with non-MagSafe phones (like the S26 Ultra) is to add a magnetic ring sticker - which you can do, if you’re keen on using Arc Pulse. HOWEVER, the bumper design could hinder proper ring placement, affect magnetic alignment, and even interfere with the accessories themselves.
So if MagSafe is a big deal to you, you’ll agree with me that Thinborne performs better in this area.

Thinborne keeps things really thin at around 0.90 mm, which is enough to preserve the phone's feel while still offering full coverage. It wraps the back and edges, giving you consistent protection without unnecessary bulk.
Needless to say, Arc Pulse is not thin (the bumper design is actually quite bulky). And the truth is that most of your phone remains exposed. This might appeal to fans of unique phone cases, but remember that it only protects key areas (not the entire phone).
What I like best about Thinborne is its balanced approach to protecting your phone. Aside from covering the back and sides, you’ll also get a tempered glass screen protector for the front.
Thinborne is newer than Arc Pulse - and it’s also a smaller business organization. This is not a bad thing though, as it’s able to provide more personalized (hands-on) services.
Our headquarters is based in Texas, and our boss (Karl) handles a lot of the back-end stuff. So, when you reach out to Thinborne about your Samsung S26 Ultra case, you’ll get immediate access to the brand owner (isn’t that cool?).
Honestly, I don’t have personal knowledge of Arc Pulse’s customer service. They also have a good reputation, so that’s a good thing.
Thinborne has strict quality control, which shows in the details:
Precise cutouts
Consistent fit around edges
Clean alignment for buttons and ports
Arc Pulse is also known for its strong quality control, which is good news for everyone.
