The Fold 1 featured a 7.6-inch display, whereas the Fold 2 showed an impressive 8.03-inch display. It will feature a much narrower cover display and a near-square inner display, addressing optimization issues seen in the Pixel Fold. 

When placed side by side with the Galaxy Fold 5, the Pixel Fold 2 stands out with its larger inside display. While impressive, the Fold 5 seems dwarfed by the Pixel Fold 2's expansive screen real estate. This is beneficial for multitasking, as the larger screen can comfortably accommodate multiple apps without feeling cramped.

The OnePlus Open is often praised for its perfect size and balance between the outer and inner displays. The Pixel Fold 2 mirrors this design ethos but introduces a bit more bezel on the outside display, particularly noticeable on the top left and along the left edge. While some might critique this, the overall design remains aesthetically pleasing and functional.

Based on the leaked photos, the Pixel Fold 2 will likely to continue the design language of its predecessor with some refinements. The outside bezel is silver, contrasting with the black interior bezel. This color variation may differ depending on the phone you choose. The design is elegant, with a balance of form and function.

The Pixel Fold 2's main display is expected to measures at 8.03 inches. This is a significant upgrade from the 7.6 inches of the Fold 1. The larger display offers a better viewing experience.

Thanks to a real-life image obtained by Android Authority, we can see that the Pixel Fold 2 has a completely redesigned camera module. The new module is a small rectangle in the top left, housing four sensors. While the exact specifications are unknown, it will likely include a wide-angle, ultra-wide, and telephoto lens, along with a fourth sensor which could be a time-of-flight or infrared sensor. 

The camera is positioned on the top right of the display, maintaining a clean look. The camera bump is noticeable but expected, especially considering the high-quality camera hardware integrated.

The Pixel Fold 2 will maintain a slim profile from the side, measuring 10.54mm compared to the previous 12.1mm. The buttons are conveniently placed, ensuring ease of use. The camera bump is prominent but should limit who plans to use a case, as it will even out the back surface

The front display has also increased, now measuring 6.29 inches, up from 5.8 inches. This results in a taller display that users are likely to appreciate. The hinge design is robust and smooth, ideally opening at a full 180 degrees for a seamless, foldable experience.

The Pixel Fold 2 is rumored to have a Tensor G4 processor. The new Tensor G4 chipset has appeared on Geekbench 5, revealing an 8-core CPU cluster along with ARM’s Immortalis G715 GPU. Early benchmarks have shown lower scores compared to the Tensor G3, but this is expected to improve with further optimization before the final release. 

While it may not match the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in raw power, the Tensor G4 excels in efficiency and AI-driven tasks. It handles medium to high settings in AAA games well, though it might struggle with ultra-high settings and maximum frame rates

The Pixel Fold 2 is estimated to have a 5000mAh battery, supporting both wired and wireless charging. It will include 5G, Bluetooth 5.3, ultra-wideband, and Wi-Fi 7, running on the latest Android 15.

The previous Pixel Fold was announced at Google’s IO event last year. However, reports indicate that the Pixel Fold 2 will debut alongside the Pixel 9. This delay allows the device to launch with the latest Tensor G4 chipset, avoiding the issue of featuring an outdated chipset at launch. There’s also a possibility of a teaser at this year’s Google IO event. As for the pricing, the Pixel Fold 2 is expected to launch at around $1800.

The Pixel Fold 2 will come with 16 GB of DDR5 RAM, a substantial upgrade from the predecessor’s 12 GB. Additionally, it will feature faster storage with UFS 4.0, ensuring improved performance and efficiency.
